SW Toy Collector Creator Spotlight: JCC-Josh’s Custom Capes
Today we’re taking time to highlight a member of the customizing community, Joshua Campbell. Many of his items have really helped take my figure and toy photography to the next level! Read what he has to say below.
Hey there SWTC Community!
My name is Joshua Campbell. I am a father most importantly, then comes being the owner/main operator at JCC-Josh’s Custom Capes. 🙂
My fiancee Casey and I have happily run our shop alongside each other since late 2019 before hopping on Etsy in 2020.
We started doing soft goods for Star Wars figures because we were honestly disappointed with the plastic clam-shelled “traffic cone” styled capes that came with the figures.
I remember having a discussion with Casey about being a kid playing with my 2005 Revenge of the Sith toy line figures, and how some of the figures would have benefited in the articulation department if fabric was used instead of plastic.
From that conversation on, we got the idea to come up with our first cape for the 6-inch black series Mandalorian, and the commissions started pouring in! 🙂
It’s been an absolutely amazing journey and opportunity that not only myself, but my entire family, are forever grateful for!
JCC can fabricate your figures at any scale, but the main scale we work on is 1:12.
We are currently working with Marauder Gun Runners who specialize in 1:18 scale items, so expect to see more 1:18 items slip onto the shop down the line.
I would say my favorite figure to make soft goods for would have to be ANY Vader! I have always loved Vader, and ever since seeing his transformation in 2005, I’ve been hooked! I get a smile seeing a Vader set on an Etsy order.
Followers can support us best by following us on all of our social media platforms, placing an order through Etsy, or directly through Paypal G&S.
