Rumor Report: Daimyo Boba Fett Is coming to Black Series

Is The Mandalorian Privateer hinting at a Daimyo Boba Fett for the Black Series? Since ROTJ Boba Fett we’ve gotten a few new styles of Mandalorian jet packs. The ROTJ jet pack was reused a few times – once for Cobb Vanth, twice for additional versions of Boba Fett (Jedi Ruins and Throne Room), and recently the Mandalorian Fleet Commander. The Mandalorian Fleet Commander was painted differently and sported a different missile attachment. When they announced the Mandalorian Privateer, I expected a straight repaint of the Mandalorian fleet Commander with the addition of the new belt. It almost is, but when I finally got it in hand, I noticed the jet pack was different than expected.

I got out a few of my previous Mandalorians. I noticed it is a new jet pack with an outer shell very similar to the design of the SH FiguArts Daimyo Boba Fett Jett pack, which is the fully repaired design seen in the Book of Boba Fett Series. See the comparison below:

The bottom is the one from the fleet commander, which has the paint to match the mold but not the shape. The SH FiguArts one is on the top right.

The back is also different here is a similar comparison of the back of the Throne Room Jet pack and the Privateer jetpack.

Upon further inspection, I noticed that the calf part of the boots of this and the fleet commander are very similar to the calf part on the Daimyo Fett figure. The only difference is that the shin armor is glued on.

Reuse is definitely something that is not new to Black Series figures, so it would make sense to see these parts more than once, especially when it comes to Mandalorians. With SDCC this weekend and Pulse Con around the corner, I would not be surprised if we see a Black Series version of the Daimyo Boba Fett announced or on display soon!
