For Light & Life: “The Acolyte” figures arrive
The Star Wars “The Acolyte” figures are starting to arrive! For the first time in a while, they are starting to hit shelves before preorders are shipping and also while the show is still showing. Just days before the final episode of the series, the first – and for now – the only wave of Acolyte figures hit Walmart shelves. In a spur of the moment, I got two figures and I’ll wait for the rest to come via preorders. I had to get Master Sol and his dynamic Padawan Jecki Lon.
In my opinion, these two were some of the better aspects of the show! I won’t get into details and spoil anything for you, but I would want to see some of their adventures before the events of Acolyte.
But on to the figures themselves. These are all new sculpts for Jedi (although I’m sure Yord might share some parts with Sol). As Jedi figures, they are much better than previous Jedi in traditional robes. The tunics are flexible enough that they can grip their sabers with both hands and not stress the plastic. Qui Gon and Revenge of the Sith Obi-Wan had hard plastic robes, and these new ones show how much they are due for an upgrade! Even the recent Obi-Wan Jabim and Jedi Legend figures though new were hard to get into most Jedi poses associated with Obi-Wan. While not perfect, they are a good improvement.
Both are fully articulated. Master Sol does have a thigh swivel, which is nice to see after many new figures losing it. Jecki on the other hand does not have the thigh swivel but does have one at her calf boot, which helps with articulation.
Another benefit of most of the figures in this wave is the inclusion of soft goods outer robes. Not every Jedi we’ve gotten has been given a soft goods robe. It’s nice that Hasbro did these right and included them. They are slightly better than the previous robes we’ve gotten and flow much more smoothly. The hood appears to be appropriately sized, but unfortunately, it’s stitched to the back of the robe. The stitch helps with the overall look of the robe but does limit it. I would definitely recommend splurging on a custom robe from Josh’s Custom Capes.
Both of them are very detailed and look exactly like the characters they are meant to! The robes and the belts are extremely detailed. While not peak Black Series, these are pretty good.
If you still want them but can’t find them in stores, you can still preorder them via Amazon and Walmart. Amazon does have a ship date of 8/19, and Walmart still has them arriving in October, but we expect those to change soon.
