Commander Bacara reporting for duty.

Commander Bacara is reporting for duty! This one has been on prequel-era fans’ wishlists for a long time. It’s great to have him, as he goes great with his Jedi General Ki- Adi-Mundi who came out last summer! 

He is on the new clone body and has a few new parts. Visually it looks decent. He is a very clean clone, i.e. he doesn’t have any weathering paint apps that have been included in past Clone Commanders/Captains like Rex, Wolffe, Gree, and Cody (who is getting remade). It’s overall decent. Not great, but decent. 

 

There are a few things I am not a fan of. 

 

1) This is a brand new clone helmet and our first in a long time without a painted or unpainted clone head underneath. It does provide some limitations to toy photography and posing options. 

 

2) The white plastic is very matte and when placed next to other clones it looks like it has a hint of taupe. I wish there could be some consistency in the type of plastic and white for all troopers, both Clone Troopers and Storm Troopers. I’ve seen discrepancies on Clone Troopers where some are glossy and some are not. Even on Storm Troopers, there isn’t much uniformity. Some versions appear pure white, and some are white with a hint of blue or yellow. It is only noticeable when you put them side by side. 

Is it worth it at full price? Probably not, but given that production numbers are decreasing, and he is needed for many to complete their clone commanders collection, I think it will go fast.
